Last of the summer weddings

Last of the summer weddings

The wedding of Catherine and Oliver on the 31st August at Masson Farm, Matlock was beautiful. They had asked me to play Violin Romance from 'As You Like It' while the guests were seated. While I was playing Catherine arrived and was able to hear it as she made last minute preparations and spoke to the registrar. The Violin Romance is a beautiful piece which really complemented the amazing surroundings up at Masson Farm.
Masson  Farm is one of my favourite venues, it's rural and has the most amazing views. The staff are always really excited for every wedding that they have there and even watch the ceremonies from the gate, I haven't seen that anywhere else. It's like a big family, led by Denise the most attentive and caring wedding organiser you'll find.

While I was playing Meditation by Massenet during the signing of the registrar a big old wartime plane flew over. Being nearly at the top of the hill the plane must have been almost within touching distance. This is the second time that has happened at Masson while playing Meditation...strange!

Anyway, next for me is to play at the Whitworth wedding fayre on Sunday 15th September 1pm - 5pm. I'll be playing on my own and with my husband Mark on keyboard and he'll be doing some performing with the Derbyshire Jazz Trio too. Should be a fun afternoon.
